The flagship hotel of Saudi Arabia's "Red Sea Tourism Project", the Desert Rock Hotel, officially opened in December 2024, marking another milestone for Saudi Arabia in the field of sustainable luxury tourism. This hotel, which coexists with nature, redefines the future of desert travel with its unique rock wall design, cutting-edge environmental technology, and immersive desert experience.
Hotel Overview: The Perfect Fusion of Nature and Technology The Desert Rock Hotel is located in the heart of the desert along the Red Sea coast in southwestern Saudi Arabia, seamlessly integrated with the surrounding giant rock formations, as if growing naturally from the earth. The hotel uses the engineering technique of "digging mountains to build", embedding 40 guest rooms, 15 private villas, and public areas into rock formations, which not only protects the original terrain but also creates a seamless living experience that seamlessly connects with the desert landscape.
Design concept: Salute to tradition, face the future The Saudi Red Sea Resort is designed by internationally renowned artists George Carlson and Oppenheim Architecture, inspired by the ancient Nabataean civilization rock carving techniques of Saudi Arabia. The designer reinterpreted traditional rock dwelling culture through modern techniques, creating a building form that combines primitive roughness and futuristic style with smooth curves and natural stone. Local hand woven fabrics, customized sandstone furniture and panoramic french window are used in the guest rooms, so that guests can enjoy the sunrise and stars in the desert at any time.
